254 SMO Steel Plate is a very high austenitic stainless steel grade. It has combination features of pitting and crevice corrosion with strength which is twice that of the 300 stainless steel series. It is known for possessing excellent workability as well. smo 254 plates for certain applications it has been reported to be a cost-effective substitute for high nickel and titanium alloys.
Other operations related to 1.4547 Plate such as forging, upsetting can be performed at 982 – 1149°C. It is recommended that temperatures should not exceed this range as it would result in reduction and scaling in the workability of the material. ASTM A240 UNS S31254 Sheet is used for applications such as food processing equipment, desalination, saltwater handling, chemical processing equipment, bleaching equipment for paper and pulp industry, etc.
